Shelfion closes pre-seed to speed up shelf-life decisions
Shelfion (formerly I-Challenge), has closed its pre-seed round. We’re proud to have been the first believer, with Rockstart and Seeder Fund joining to complete the round.
Built on strong food science, Shelfion replaces months of lab-based shelf-life testing with a fast, software-driven approach. R&D and QA teams can model scenarios, compare formulations or packaging changes, and make defensible shelf-life calls in days, while safeguarding product quality.
“The industry doesn’t just need more data, it needs trusted answers, faster,” says the Shelfion team. “Our goal is to help manufacturers move quickly, reduce waste, and launch with confidence.”
The funding will support product development, customer pilots, and expansion of the scientific models into new categories. Founders Wendy Ossieur and Katrien Begyn, with scientific leadership from Prof. Frank Devlieghere, bring a rare blend of practical industry insight and academic rigor.
